  I'm a firm believer in recording stuff as it happens, it might only be a passing glance an interesting face or even a beer label but the act of setting it on paper instills it in the memory. There is never a formula to the way I treat a sketchbook, I use them to empty my head and put down some of the constant stream of ideas I have. From a simple sketch of a moth in flight to detailed colour studies it's all important and quite often the starting point to a great many projects.

Sketchbooks are a great way of clearing the mind and drawing for no other reason than the enjoyment is very therapeutic and always mood enhancing. Even if sometimes it feels more like an exorcism.
