Global Warming Mural - Melting glacier floods London.

May 2008. Oceanarium. Bournemouth. Dorset.
For Creative Theming.

My job here was to create murals based on global warming and the idea of London in a bleak future where the icebergs have melted. The room consisted of two parts, on one side the icebergs melting in an interactive experience and on the other, London city underwater. The ceiling and floor were also painted with murals to complete the experience.

With the thought of global warming and the survival of many species on a knife edge, this was a very topical subject for the aquarium to approach.

Melting Glacier Floor Mural

Once the flooring specialist layed the texture floor (including foot prints) I muralled it to look like a glacier melting. It starts off as thick glacier ice and gets thinner as you go across the room until it drops off into the deep blue.
